Din partea managementului scolii si a profesorilor, va uram vacanta placuta!
The history of our college
The school has an age of over 75 years of secondary status, and the first high school class was established in 1956, in Mixed Secondary School. In 1957-1958 the school had grades I to IX and in 1960 the Mixed Secondary School joined with Elemental Hungarian School. Between 1959 and 1964 a new building was built for the school, with 32 classrooms, laboratories, cabinets and mechanical workshops. The high school will function until 1981, when it moved to a new place, where it is until today. After 1981, the high school from Marghita will be in continuous development. In that period, the high school has an industrial profile, with mechanical, petrol and electro technical courses. Next to the main building a workshop is build, and nearby, a sports base.
After the 1989 Revolution, education is diversified by adding philological courses and in 1992 pedagogical courses. In 1994, the high school from Marghita becomes, by government decision, “Octavian Goga” School Group. It has over 1200 students, of which about 1000 in the high school education, and the rest at the school of arts and crafts. The students have at their disposal 24 classrooms, 7 laboratories and cabinets, a sports base, library, workshops, boarding school and canteen.
The high school has technological profile (economic courses) and theoretical profile (mathematics-informatics, nature sciences and philology). Since 2007-2008 there have been two new courses: advanced English and a sports class (handball and football). The teaching is done in Romanian and Hungarian by 77 teachers. The school’s administration is done by auxiliary didactic personnel (11 people) and non-teaching staff (20 people).
Along the years, the educational activity has been crowned by numerous successes of students and teachers alike. The students obtained good results at studying, which materialized in the form of prizes at Olympiads and competitions, followed by successful application to college, while the teachers enjoyed a rewarding career. Based on these results, the petition to the Minister of Education to obtain the National College status for the high school was successful.
Since the 15th of September 2006, the students and teachers from Marghita are doing their daily activities at the “Octavian Goga” National College. At the same time, the position of principal of the school was attributed to Sas Marcel, a young and ambitious teacher. From the beginning he started a series of projects meant to upgrade the school. The “Collegium” magazine was launched, written exclusively by students and teachers, a uniform with a modern design and bearing the badge of the high school on it was introduced for the students. The most ambitious project of the new principal is about creating a new European style school campus, around the current school building. It would have two buildings for classes, another one for laboratories and cabinets, a boarding school and canteen, a gym, two sport fields and a park.
